Molecular Locks
Gene Modulation
Molecular Locks provide a means of selectively controlling gene expression of target genes in vivo without impacting other portions of the genome. This makes Molecular Locks uniquely suited as tools to engineer genomes and as compounds for pharmaceutical development. Normal cellular control and trafficking within the genome is not otherwise affected by the specific regulation of the Molecular Lock target gene. Molecular Locks can be also be formulated so that they are delivered precisely to a specific cell type. Existing drugs often have collateral unwanted impacts on non-targeted pathways and tissues that produce side-effects. These unwanted collateral effects may be eliminated or reduced with the use of Molecular Locks that are delivered to specific nucleic acids targets within specific cells.
